Train to become a volunteer lifeguard with Surf Life Saving NZ. You'll learn rescue techniques, first aid, CPR, and beach safety through our Surf Lifeguard Award programme.

Training runs over several weekends at your local club. Once qualified, you'll patrol your local beach during summer weekends and public holidays.

You must be a strong swimmer (able to swim 400m in under 9 minutes). Minimum age 14. All training and equipment provided by your local club.
