Trail sections across Aotearoa

When

Ongoing

Help maintain New Zealand's 3,000km walking trail. Tasks include clearing gorse and blackberry, removing windfall trees, unblocking culverts, painting marker posts, and track resurfacing.

Te Araroa has only two paid employees — the trail is almost entirely maintained by volunteers through seven regional trusts. Working bees happen monthly during the walking season.

Choose a section near you. Tools and training provided. A great way to give back to the outdoors and keep Aotearoa's greatest walk open for everyone.
