Sandfly Bay Wildlife Viewing Ranger — Otago

Department of Conservation

Location

Otago

Sandfly Bay, Otago Peninsula

When

Ongoing

Protect and educate visitors about wildlife at Sandfly Bay on the Otago Peninsula. You'll help safeguard yellow-eyed penguins (hoiho) and New Zealand sea lions while teaching visitors about these incredible species.

This is a regular role running from mid-October to mid-April. Shifts are typically 2–3 hours in the afternoon when penguins return to shore.

A wonderful opportunity for wildlife enthusiasts. No specialist skills required — DOC provides training.
