Red Shield Appeal — Street Collection

Join thousands of volunteers across New Zealand for the Salvation Army's annual Red Shield Appeal. This is one of the country's largest and most recognised street appeals.

Volunteers collect donations at assigned locations in their local area. A typical shift runs for 2-3 hours on Saturday morning. All materials provided — just turn up in comfortable shoes with a friendly attitude.

The Red Shield Appeal funds the Salvation Army's community work: food banks, addiction services, emergency housing, and family support. Every dollar raised stays in New Zealand.
