Patient Companion — Mary Potter Hospice

Mary Potter Hospice

Location

Wellington

Mary Potter Hospice, Newtown, Wellington

When

Ongoing

Visit patients in the Mary Potter Hospice In-Patient Unit. You'll provide companionship — reading together, playing board games, helping patients enjoy the garden, or simply being there.

Requires a two-day training programme covering self-awareness, loss and grief, cultural awareness, family dynamics, and communication skills. Ongoing support and supervision provided.

A regular commitment of a few hours per week. One of the most meaningful volunteer roles you can do — being present for someone during a profoundly important time in their life.
