Kaibosh rescues surplus food across the Wellington region and gets it to community groups that need it, and its 280-plus volunteers are the backbone of the operation. Roles include warehouse support, driving with the food rescue team to collect donations, sorting and quality-checking food, and kitchen support turning rescued food into meals at the Hutt and Kāpiti sites.
Most shifts run one to three hours on weekday mornings, with some weekend and evening shifts available in Wellington. You'll need a reasonable level of fitness, as some roles involve lifting boxes up to 15kg.
Apply through Kaibosh's online registration, or email the team for your area – Wellington, Hutt Valley or Kāpiti. All volunteers complete an induction before their first shift.
