When

Ongoing

Volunteer as a campsite host at a DOC campground. You'll collect payments, clean facilities, provide visitor information, and meet daily with DOC rangers.

Placements run two weeks to one month, typically between October and April. About four hours of duties per day — the rest of the time is yours to enjoy the surroundings.

Self-contained accommodation (campervan or caravan) is usually required. A great option for retired travellers or couples wanting to explore a region while giving back.

Campsites available across all regions — from Abel Tasman to the West Coast.
