When

Ongoing

Become a trained CAB volunteer adviser. You'll help people understand their rights and options across legal, tenancy, consumer, employment, and other issues — face to face, by phone, and via online chat.

Training takes 6–12 weeks (2-hour weekly sessions) including online modules, face-to-face sessions, and mentored observation. Full accreditation after your first year of service. Monthly ongoing training keeps you up to date on law changes.

One shift per week, 2–3 hours. Minimum 12-month commitment recommended.

There are 80+ bureaux across Aotearoa. Particularly well-suited for law students, retirees, and anyone passionate about helping people navigate the system.
