When

Ongoing

Age Concern Wellington needs volunteers for two roles that help older people stay connected: Volunteer Visitors, who offer friendship and conversation through regular home visits, and Walking Companions, who provide company and light exercise on a weekly walk.

Both roles ask for at least an hour a week during the day, with training and ongoing support provided. Walking Companions don't need a car, though having one can help reach walking spots.

Register your interest through the online volunteer form – note that Walking Companions has a waiting list in some areas, so Visitor roles may start sooner.
